Currently, images in an ePub book lack of zoom functionality in images makes it difficult or impossible for users to view fine details or information in textbooks and illustrated materials, reducing the utility of Perlego for study and reference purposes. Additionally, when users tap on an image in ePub files, there is no easy way to return to the reading section, causing confusion and disrupting the reading flow.
The 'ePub image viewing' improvements aims to provide a seamless and intuitive process for viewing, zooming, and exiting image previews so that learners and readers can extract maximum value from illustrated content, diagrams, charts, and textbook visuals.
The solution will introduce reliable zoom functionality, an easy and clear way to return to the text after inspecting an image, and consistent behaviour across both Web and App. This update is designed to reduce user frustration and make academic or reference materials more accessible and usable.
